"I believe Amazon is helping us save a minimum of 2-10 hours EACH month in manpower. In addition, we have saved thousands of dollars by moving away from archaic systems and vendors that require manual maintenance of incoming and outgoing personnel or the additional hassle of routing purchases for approval. Between incentive rebates, Business Member discounts, and the ease of ordering/receiving/returning, this has been the easiest transition we have implemented in the last 5 years at least.
Before we synced our District with Active Directory—meaning every employee with an email is automatically logged into our Corporation Amazon account, which shows our pricing—we would be chasing down purchases that had no documented approval, invoices where tax had been charged, or completely missing invoices with no success. Employees could use their Corporation email to set up Business Accounts that were not approved, were not linked to the district in any way, and were not tax-exempt. Not only was this a security liability, but it was also frustrating to all parties, especially when trying to budget for grants or trying to reconcile accounts or get refunds of tax for Corporation purchases.
As we explored options to correct and align all of this, Amazon was 100% solution focused and moved on the feedback we provided with impressive speed. Especially knowing the state of public school funding in Indiana, they offered a FREE and fully customizable solution to route invoices or customize purchasing groups with approval rules built into the purchasing process. Our account rep was wonderful in helping us correct any issues and working together on what we wanted from our Amazon experience. We moved to Pay by Invoice, which again saved another 1-5 hours a week in paperwork, communication, and credit card maintenance, and allowed us control over which employees had access to update addresses and delivery preferences. We have never been saving more money and more TIME than we are now by using Amazon!"
